At the Guangzhou Auto Show, which opened on November 15, the new Golf was officially unveiled, and the GTI version was displayed on the first day of the media day. As a mid-cycle facelift, the new model has been upgraded in terms of exterior and interior. The new Golf will also be powered by a 1.5-liter engine, while the new Golf GTI will continue to use a 2.0-liter engine.

Looking back at the new car, the new Golf has mainly made minor adjustments in terms of appearance, with a sharper shape of the headlight cluster and a sharper visual effect. The pattern of the middle grille under the front face has been adjusted, and heat dissipation holes have been added on both sides of the front bumper. The R-Line package is also available as an option, with a continuous front bumper design and a diamond-shaped grille. The area of the middle mesh has also been further expanded, and the "small fang" design has also been adopted, which is even more ferocious.

At the rear, the taillight clusters have been blackened, while the rear surround has also been reshaped, with diamond-shaped elements echoing the front end, and a concealed exhaust layout. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4282 (4289)/1788/1479mm, and the wheelbase is 2631mm.

The new Golf GTI has been upgraded for the front and rear surrounds, with honeycomb LED fog lamps at the front and a two-sided exhaust layout at the rear. In addition, the new car will be equipped with new five-spoke petal wheels with red brake calipers inside.

In terms of interior, the new car still uses a black style to match. The central control area adopts a 12.9-inch floating screen to replace the previous dual-screen design, and the floating screen is tilted to the driver's side, and the overall sense of science and technology has been further improved. The GTI model, on the other hand, is equipped with a sports steering wheel and seats, while the seats are still made of patchwork fabrics and retain the woven texture to create a strong sporty atmosphere.

In terms of power, the new Golf is equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 118kW, an increase of 8kW compared to the previous 1.4T engine, and the drivetrain is mated to a 7-speed dry dual-clutch transmission.
